Ann-Marie Noyes has registered as a candidate for mayor in November’s municipal election.
Her decision has been an open secret since 2006 — about the only thing the loquacious councillor hasn’t said during the past three years.
Registering allows her to start to raise money for her campaign.
She was first elected in 1997 to represent Stevensville and area in Ward 6. She was re-elected in 2000, 2003 and 2006.
She is the only candidate to register for the mayoralty, although current Mayor Doug Martin is expected to run again.
Two candidates have registered for council election: incumbents Bob Steckley in Ward 3 and Rick Shular in Ward 2. Tim Whitfield has said he will run for re-election in Ward 4. Sandy Annunziate will not be running for re-election in Ward 1.
